A new collection of paintings featuring hand-painted wooden flowers and a contemporary way of approaching traditional still-life painting.
Each shape is traced and re-worked from one of my works on paper. The shapes are then laser-cut on a poplar wood in Cornwall and then left blank for my painting.
These shapes are painted after being cut, giving them new life and meaning, working back into my hazy memories of the original painting and moving further away from the original composition. Flowers, colours and patterns are re-imagined every time.
Each bouquet is set within a coloured box frame, chosen to reflect the colour and mood of the florals.
Commissions and specified frame colours are available on request, please just ask.
