I run occasional workshops that explore painting in a bold, fun and experimental way. Subjects often centre around floral composition and seaweed, shells and other found objects collected through foraging along the Cornish coastline. I love talking about paint, interesting media and discussing the merits of one sort of paper over another.
I am always on the look out for interesting venues (near beaches and good foraging grounds!) , and so if you have any ideas, don't be shy - drop me a line and say hello!
Workshops will be advertised via my newsletter which you can sign up to via my homepage, here and on my Facebook page.
MIDWINTER FLORALS PAINTING WORKSHOP
ST MICHAELS RESORT
18th December 2019
17:00 - 20:00
Join this creative painting workshop, play with brightly-coloured paints and experiment with pattern in celebration of all that midwinter's nature offers. Hosted in the Garden Kitchen at St Michaels Resort, Falmouth.
Bring along your foraged finds to the workshop and think about the richness of colour and texture in the hardy blooms which thrive through the colder months.
Workshop attendees will spend time working out a composition using their foraged flowers and then complete an A4 gouache painting, ready to take home in a frame provided at the workshop. Garlands and maybe even a little mistletoe will be dressing the tables!
No painting experience necessary and all levels very welcome. All materials and refreshments provided. Simply bring your foraged shells, pebbles, flowers and any autumnal shape that takes your fancy.
Tip: Dried flowers, seadheads and beach finds look just as good dried out over time as they do fresh. There are still lots of flowers around, holly is everywhere (#thehollyandtheivy) and actually if you look hard enough, you'll see that it's quite often leaves which shine brightest at this time of year!
