Biography
Lucy Innes Williams is a painter living and working in Falmouth, Cornwall. She grew up in Switzerland, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Lucy works across painting and drawing disciplines. Her subject matter centres around a dream-like interpretation of flowers, celebrating their movement and borderline abstract-qualities. Textiles, decorative folk arts and a contemporary re-imagining of the traditional still life oeuvre inform each painting.
Lucy works on meticulously-drawn laser cut wooden shapes which then frame their expressive subject matter. Final compositions are suspended within a tray-frame, akin to a Victorian collector’s display and always showing the presence of the human hand.
Lucy received her BA (Hons) Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Chelsea College of Art.
She exhibits regularly with galleries in Cornwall, London, Norfolk, Surrey and Devon.
