Artist Fieldtrip : Visit a flower farm with me

I love to draw in nature. I was lucky enough to visit my friend Laura's regenerative flower farm, Florii Culture in Mount Hawke, Cornwall. I made a little video of what I saw and how I like to move around a space. I tend to sketch lightly, take many photographs and make a note of the colours, sounds and smells around me.

It was one of those gloriously hot, sunny days and in fact it was so bright that I had to shade all the flowers I'd cut under a water butt while I drew in the hot wind.

What I've seen on one of my field trips might come out in a painting soon after the visit, or it might be that the inspiration comes from looking back at the photos and weaving a scene into a bouquet I am hunting a shape for.
