What I say when someone asks what I do (Artist Edition)

Announcing myself as an artist is a word I wouldn't always have used to describe myself. Despite studying fine art at university, I spent a decade afterwards barely painting at all. It is only in the last five years that I'd describe myself as an artist.

Below is how and why I would describe what I do when the question arises.
